The most powerful living stillwater, Eiden is the founder of the modern human human civilizations of Varathia, as well one of the three main powers on the island; The others being the Golden Fox and Tyrath.

Appearance[]

Eiden is described as a young man in his late teens, no older than twenty. He is wears loose pants and a loose tunic, apparently not much different from clothes one would normally change into before going to bed.[1] He is almost never seen with his eyes open, and generally wears a polite smile.

Backstory[]

The Still Winter[]

Very little is known about Eiden's life, but the little we know comes from this time period. The earliest known event of his life was being visited by Melindra whilst imprisoned for an unknown reason, unable to escape as without magical powers at the time.[2] During The Still Winter, Eiden fought for the Lessathi, killing many stillwaters.[3] The cause of the war is unknown, and even less is known about why Eiden fought. During this war, he and the Golden Fox cast a complex spell on the banshee Arraka, forbidding her from possessing humanoid hosts.[4]

After Arraka was imprisoned again, Eiden, the Golden Fox, and Tyrath formed a triumvirate with the intent of keeping the peace across Varathia. At this time, Eiden took on the name of the Creator, an ancient being that had supposedly created the continent, by replacing the previous one, which brought forth the legend of the Creator and the Golden Fox creating a paradise across Varathia. This was far from the truth.

Eiden hoped the inhabitants would form a stable and fair society, and as such left them relatively to their own devices, save for teaching those who could cast the spell to create food from thin air, negating the need for crops or animal hunting. His inaction would lead to disaster, as without proper guidance, the people quickly fell into disarray, the strong forcibly taking power and oppressing the weak, the regular citizens living in squalor under the noble houses. This shattered Eiden's previous faith in humanity, becoming disgusted and apathetic towards them. The Golden Fox subsequently blamed Eiden for the increasing degradation of the humans, to the point where they were willing to eat other animals after crops failed since the food creation spell was very difficult to learn.

Roughly twenty years before the tournament, Eiden destroyed the city of Olmnar due to his disgust towards the actions of its residents, as they started hunting animals for sport. This act cemented stillwaters as an incredibly dangerous force, along with Eiden earning Flower's hatred and causing the Fox to sever all ties with him.[3]

The Tournament[]

On the first night of the tournament, Eiden writes a message in the sky in an ancient language, giving the location of Tyrath's lair on the north side of the island. Eiden's first in-game appearance occurs the next morning, meeting Barry and Daren outside their campsite, looking to send a message to the remaining lessathi. He plays along with Barry pretending to be a stillwater, but drops it when Daren admits he already knows it's a bluff. After explaining why he always keeps his eyes shut, Eiden briefly clashes with Daren over his optimism over helping mankind, Eiden driving his point of cold reality home by pinning Daren to the ground, with the intent of killing him. Barry steps in and offers to deliver Eiden's message to his associates if Daren is spared. Eiden agrees and releases Daren, giving Barry the message "Eiden says 'Remember the Still Winter'".[1]

Eiden appears regularly to the group later on, such as during the first confrontation with Tyrath, he helps Barry defeat the dragon. Eiden is stated to only care about Barry's group on a whim, which seems to be confirmed as he lets the group be killed, or kills them himself on a multitude of occasions depending on the player's choices. However he keeps a passive interest in the group, and it seems that the group is prophecized[5] to restore Eiden's faith in humanity.

Abilities[]

Eiden is extremely powerful, being able to easily overpower nearly every single character we've seen so far. However, a significant portion of his strength comes from his ability to "bypass" the rules of magic, being able to ignore certain rules and limitations of magic. He is also extremely intelligent, with Barry being the first in hundreds of years to figure out some of his 'loopholes'.

Stillwater's Perks[]

As a Stillwater, Eiden's magical capabilities are enhanced more enormously than before. Despite being able to use magic, however, his aura lacks magic in it and is very similar to ordinary humans who are not mages. His aura also changed so that he stopped aging, became sterile, and mostly immune to diseases.

Aura Manipulation Technique[]

Eiden is quite skilled at manipulating aura. Eiden is capable of manipulating his aura to push people into the ground quite hard or to choke people and drag them up.[1] Other than that, he can also read people's aura to tell their age, race, and mental state, and to see if they are lying or not. He can also tell the whereabouts of each person from far away by sensing their unique aura and using his magical sense that covers the whole island of Varathia.[6]

Combustive Magic[]

Eiden is capable of exploding something upon contact.[1]

Fire Magic[]

Eiden is capable of creating multiple huge pillars of fire. He could also send his opponent's fire spell back towards them.[7]

Teleportation Magic[]

Eiden is capable of teleporting multiple times quickly and easily.[7]

Barrier Magic[]

Time Magic[]

  • Time-freezing spell: or also called time-stopping spell is a spell that stops time for about 2 minutes. This spell breaks as soon as the user moves a few feet from his original position or interact with anyone who’s frozen.[7] If any part of the user's body goes over a certain boundary, they will get a warning message, telling them that if they don’t retreat in the next ten seconds, this spell will get canceled. Eiden uses this loophole by making sure that as long as he doesn’t go too far beyond the boundary and retreat at the very end of the ten-second countdown. By doing this, he can practically add ten more seconds to the duration of the spell. Since the time limit of the spell has been added by design, due to safety reasons, and not due to technical limitations, he could probably lengthen the duration of this spell almost indefinitely.[8]

Others[]

  • Sleep Spell: Sends the target into unconsciousness immediately.[1]
  • Flight Spell
  • Invisibility Spell: a spell that turns the user invisible while also masking the user's aura.
  • Electric Spell: a spell that paralyzes the opponent using electricity periodically. The area of effect is extremely small and could only be cast once a day.[9]
  • Silencing Spell: can silence the caster, others, and/or others to the caster.[8]
  • Food Conjuration Spell: created by him and Eleya through their connection to the Magium.

He is presumably able to use far more magic and spells, but this is all we have seen
