The Half-Lessathi are a hybridized species between the Lessathi and Humans. They have the unique capabilities of the Lessathi, but have a stronger magical aura than most Lessathi.
Introduction[]
Half-Lessathi are outcast from Lessathi society, so most of them live with humans. If either the mother or father of the child have any Lessathi blood in them, a Half-Lessathi is conceived. The only known Half-Lessathi in the story are Barry and Melindra. It is unlikely that there are any more Half-Lessathi because it is illegal in Lessathi culture to interbreed with Humans.
Appearance[]
Like the Lessathi, Half-Lessathi are completely identical to Humans in appearance. However, the magic in their aura is weaker than that of humans but not completely absent like with full Lessathi.[1]
History[]
We do not know much of Half-Lessathi history. We know that somewhere more than 600 years prior to the events of the tournament, Melindra was conceived between a Lessathi and a Human. Who her parents are is unknown, so is their fate and what her childhood was like. 28-29 years before the events of the story, we know that Barry was conceived between a Lessathi woman and a human man. We know that the Lessathi woman was the sister of Meredith[2] and that she helped them flee to the Western Continent. The fate of Barry's parents is very vague, and we only know they died in some way or another. Barry ended up adopted by Jonathan and Helen, who tragically also died to their daughter Claire when she became possessed by a banshee. Both Barry and Melindra end up in the same place in Varathia during the events of the mage tournament.

Low-Magic Aura[]
Half-Lessathi have less magic in their aura than humans, but still have some magic meaning that they can theoretically cast magic. Their auras also allow them to make full use of the stat device's capabilities just like regular Lessathi, as well as the magical stats due to having enough magic to utilize it.[1]
Connection to the Magium[]
Half-Lessathi at least seem to have at least a similar connection to the Magium as regular Lessathi. When Barry approaches the Magium node[2] he seems to be revealed more knowledge than a normal human would see. It's unclear whether this is because of his Lessathi blood, or just something normal than Magium nodes do when touched by any species.
