Melindra is a supporting character in Magium.

Appearance[]

Melindra appears as a young 19 year old[1] girl with a rather cute face, which is nicely complemented by her light-brown hair that she wears in a high ponytail. The silken pajama clothes that she is wearing in broad daylight may look a bit ridiculous at first sight, but the ones that Melindra is wearing seem to have been chosen with a bit more care, from an aesthetical point of view. Also, unlike regular pajamas, while these clothes definitely look comfortable to move in, they also seem to have been designed to fit in a way that highlights the slim frame of her body and the shape of her breasts.[2]

Personality[]

Melindra is blunt, carefree, and lives life in the moment. She generally acts without considering how it may come off to others. Although she isn't deliberately rude, her tendency to speak her mind often appears insensitive and snidey, like when she tells Daren that the group's battle teamwork needs improvement, without considering that she hadn't fought at all.[3] While Melindra is a powerful stillwater, her unthreatening demeanor makes her easy to tease.[2] In terms of relationships, she prefers to have fewer attachments, such as being friends with benefits.

History[]

The Still Winter[]

Prior to becoming a stillwater around 600 years ago, Melindra was imprisoned along with Eiden before the still winter. Melindra, being an avid rock collector, noticed the 'valuable' rocks in Eiden's cell while she was tasked with cleaning the prison corridors. In an effort to convince Eiden to give them to her, she began having daily conversations with him. Eventually, she proposed to sneak him better food from the kitchens every once in a while in exchange for a rock, as she was also on serving duty. When she returned with the food, Eiden looked rather shocked. He would be amused each time she referred to their bargains as 'even trades'.[3]

During the still winter war, Melindra trailed behind Eiden and Eleya, siding with the lessathi against the other stillwaters. She was with Eiden when he received his prophecy from the previous time weaver, and accompanied him to a few of the council meetings he held with Eleya and Tyrath after the war.[1]

Recent Events[]

Eight years ago, Melindra was exiled from Varathia by the king of Ollendor,[4] and recently returned as a tournament participant to kill him for taking her brother from her.[5]

Abilities[]

Melindra has poor control of her magical powers, causing her to lose control of larger spells or deplete her energy reserves by unintentionally overexerting herself.

Half-Lessathi's Perks[]

As a half-lessathi, Melindra has a partial resistance to paralysis and electricity along with partial immunity to sleep spells. Unlike the lessathi aura, that have zero magic in it, the half-lessathi aura have magic in it, but the magic in it is weaker than normal humans and very close to zero.

Stillwater's Perks[]

As a stillwater, Melindra is able to cast magic despite her being a half-lessathi. Despite being able to use magic, her aura still lacks magic in it, and is very similar to ordinary human who are not a mages. Her aura also changed so that she stopped aging, became sterile, and mostly immune to diseases. The changes in her aura also causes her to be unable to use a stat device again.

Air Magic[]

Melindra is an air elementalist, and generally uses her magic to form wind barriers[5] or fly short distances[3], since she has limited control of her powers. In terms of smaller spells, she can cast tiny air currents in a person's ears to disrupt their hearing.[1]

  • Semi-intelligent air currents: she can give a person control of semi-intelligent air currents that can be controlled by the person's arm movements and used to fly.[6]
  • Wind Blades spell: creates transparent wind blades that are only visible when they catch the sunlight. In movement, they appear as shimmering lights and can be magically sharpened to pierce surfaces at dangerous speeds.[6]

Others[]

  • Silencing spell: can silence the caster, others, and/or others to the caster.[3]
  • Invisibility spell: the incomplete version she learned from Eiden that can be cast once per day, or every 24 hours.[3]
