Magium Wiki

Varathia is a so-called continent, that is in fact an island.

Information[]

The only way one can travel to Varathia is by receiving a direct invitation. Very few of those are sent yearly, and the people being teleported there are being held under direct supervision for the duration of their stay, and return with no information regarding the coordinates of the place.[1]

Varathia is the only place in the world where animals can speak, and it is the only place where they live in civilized societies.[2]

History[]

The Lessathi Emipre[]

The lessathi were the first inhabitants of the Varathia, and reached the height of their empire five thousand years ago. They built seredium towers that touched the sky, where mages powered their technology.[3] The downfall of the lessathi six hundred years ago buried most of their technological knowledge.

The Still Winter[]

Six hundred years ago, a war waged between the lessathi, led by Eiden and Eleya, and the stillwaters, led by Therius.[4] After the end of still winter war, Eiden, who took the title of the Creator, and the spirit protector of all animals, the great Golden Fox, decided together to end all war and hunger, uniting the human and animal kingdoms, and leading them into an age of peace and prosperity. They taught both humans and animals how to create what they needed with magic, and thus eliminated the need for work and conflict. Food, water, warmth, shelter, every one of those things could be obtained through magical means.[5]

Geography[]

Thilias[]

Thilias is a small harbor town near the southern coast of Varathia.[6]

Ollendor[]

Ollendor is kind of a rogue kingdom and has already been isolated from most of Varathia.[7]

Politics[]

Thilias[]

Thillas is ruled by the gnome king Golmyck, he often sells treasures and uses the money to help the poor.[8]

Ollendor[]

Ollendor is ruled by the mad king Undriel who teamed up with a rogue lessathi, Biliborrathrathsarran.

Seasons[]

Storms, though rare in Varathia, tend to be rather nasty, especially in the summer. They are characterized by heavy downpour, winds powerful enough to pull trees from the roots, lightning, and thunder as loud as explosions.[4]
